About Us:
The U.S. Probation Department for the Southern District of New York, is responsible for preparing pre-sentence investigations on individuals convicted of federal crimes, supervising offenders sentenced to probation, or those released under supervised release supervision from the courts or parole from the U.S. Parole Commission and military authorities.
Mission:
As a system, federal probation is charged with assisting the federal courts in the fair administration of justice, protecting the community and bringing about long-term positive changes in individuals under supervision.
